- Funding
- Not funded by member dues. The IBRD funds itself in the capital markets, issuing bonds since 1947 and rated triple-A since 1959. Its concessional arm, IDA, relies on contributions from richer member governments, replenished every three years — the IDA21 replenishment of December 2024 produced a $100 billion package for fiscal 2025–2028. The Bank does not name its largest IDA donors on these pages.

- 189 member countries are shareholders, represented by a Board of Governors that meets annually, with Executive Directors in continuous session.

- Quarterly database updates; the current WDI holds about 1,400 series for 217 economies.
